As part of the educational component of this event, there were five lectures on the science and psychology of global warming and climate change. Lecturers Dr. Marc Gopin and Christel Gopin conducted via Zoom the first four lectures during the first week of the event. Their lectures focused on global warming: the causes, the effects on nature, and the after effects on humans, exploring both the science and psychology of global warming.

The Global Warming Series Exhibition Opening 2021

Heartland Community Reconciliation Center (HCRC) has completed its first big event, The Global Warming Painting Exhibition and Lecture Series, soon after HCRC’s inception just 18 months ago. Our opening on May 15, 2021 was well attended with gorgeous weather. After our opening, HCRC hired Blockhouse Media to film the paintings and one of the lectures to create an edited version of the educational aspects of this painting and lecture series.

Interactive Youth Workshops 2021

Many children and young students visited this painting exhibition. The 5th and 6th graders from The Project School, Bloomington, IN came with their teacher, Abbey Kutlas-Prickett. They talked with the artist, made observations, asked questions, and conducted sketching and free writing toward completing their assignments to create collaborative protest songs and protect art, after their semester-long studies of the role of the arts in activism and social change, and their studies in global warming.
